SVS-ON commentary: A comprehensive and practical work on social security law for the self-employed
We are pleased to announce the publication of the 2,700-page commentary SVS-ON from MANZ Verlag. For the first time, the work offers a comprehensive commentary on all relevant social insurance laws for the insured self- employed sector. This includes the GSVG, BSVG, FSVG, ASVG, APG and SVSG laws, which are explained in detail by the expertise of more than 100 specialists.
Contributions from our partner Christoph Ludvik
Our partner Christoph Ludvik has made an important contribution to the commentary with his valuable contributions on practical contract drafting. In his section, he provides well-founded insights into the distinction between self-employment and employment. The commentary on freelance contracts and an accompanying questionnaire offer practical assistance for entrepreneurs to gain clarity on the form of their employment. In addition, topics such as the insurance obligation of managing directors and the avoidance of abusive contractual practices, which are of great relevance to many self-employed persons, are also covered.
A new system for practical application
The SVS-ON commentary impresses with its innovative system and thus creates real added value for practitioners. Particularly noteworthy is the comparative commentary on parallel provisions from different substantive laws, such as the GSVG and BSVG. This systematic presentation not only allows a direct comparison of the divergences, but also offers a transparent presentation of the standardized enforcement practice of the Insurer for the Self-Employed (SVS).
Beyond the commentary section
The work goes beyond mere commentary and also offers valuable analysis and assistance:
• Synopsis of legal differences with insights into their background and possible harmonization efforts;Historical and economic analyses that shed light on the interplay of divergence and convergence in order to identify optimization potential in social security regulations;
• Historical and economic analyses that shed light on the interactions between divergence and convergence in order to identify optimization potential in social security regulations;
• Connections to other areas of law such as tax, corporate and procedural law as well as international aspects, which are of particular importance for contractual arrangements and the practice of the self-employed.
CONCLUSION
The SVS-ON Commentary is an indispensable reference work for anyone working in the field of social security for the self-employed. By combining practical solutions, scientific analysis and legal commentary, this work sets new standards for practice and research in the field of social security law.
